Lenormand Oracle: Meaning of the Bear Card

The Bear card of the Lenormand oracle represents power. This power can be physical, such as a heavily built or physically large person; professional, such as a supervisor or a boss; or a matter of social status. Although it might look like a motherly figure, it is not really a gentle card: the bear is aggressive and fights for what it wants, so it can represent a bully or someone with a domineering character.

In the Lenormand oracle, the Bear is a mostly positive card that speaks of power, wealth, status and courage. As it is a large animal, it can speak of large assets such as houses, estates or land.

Keywords: Wealth, a despot, power, status, abundance, protection, possessiveness, authority, strength, energy, an influential person, anger and rage.

Meaning of the Bear in the Lenormand oracle

The topic we ask the Lenormand oracle about is decisive when interpreting this card, as its meaning can vary. These are some of its possible meanings:

The Bear in love

In a love reading, the Bear can speak of a person with typical "alpha" qualities: someone who is the dominant character in the relationship and likes to take the reins and make the important decisions. It can also speak of a jealous, possessive person and, in extreme cases, even an abuser.

The Bear in money/work

In a work reading, the Bear can speak of a boss or someone in a position above ours. If it refers to the querent, it speaks of someone with willpower, very hard-working, who will defend their interests and overcome every obstacle or test put in their way.

The Bear in health

In a health reading, the Bear can speak of problems controlling anger; perhaps the person being asked about is significantly overweight or has digestive problems.

The Bear in family/friendships

If we ask about family or friends, the Bear speaks of domineering people who try to force others to accept their decisions or points of view; there may be jealousy and envy within these circles.

The Bear for timing

The bear is a strong but slow animal, so this card can indicate delays or a long period of time. On the other hand, as card number 15, it can speak of 15 days (about a fortnight) or more than a year.
