By Fran, a professional tarot reader for over 10 years.

Hello! I'm Fran

I'm Fran, a professional tarot reader with more than 10 years of experience and thousands of satisfied clients.

From a very young age I felt a deep fascination for the esoteric and the supernatural. I remember spending hours in my grandmother's small library. She was a wise and rather mysterious woman who kept a collection of books and objects about tarot, astrology, witchcraft and oracles.

Among all those books and magical objects, one caught my attention: an old, worn deck of Lenormand cards wrapped in a black cloth. The first time I held those cards I felt an instant connection. Their simple illustrations, so full of symbolism, spoke to me in a language that, although unknown to me then, seemed to resonate with a deep part of who I am.

Noticing my interest, my grandmother began to teach me the secrets of the Lenormand cards. With patience and wisdom she explained the meaning of each card and how to interpret their combinations. Her readings were astonishingly accurate and often revealed details that seemed impossible to know in advance. Over time I understood that the magic of the Lenormand cards lay not only in the symbols printed on them but also in the reader's intuition.

A turning point on my path was a reading I did for a close friend. He was going through a very difficult period and didn't know which way to turn. The Lenormand cards revealed a series of messages that helped him see his situation from a new perspective.

Seeing how the cards could offer comfort and guidance, I knew I wanted to share this gift with more people. That is why I created this website, where you can learn the Lenormand card meanings step by step and write to me if you have any questions.

How to interpret Lenormand card meanings

Knowing the meaning of each Lenormand card on its own is only the first step. These are the four keys I use in every reading:

1. Read them in pairs

The first card sets the topic and the second describes it. Heart + Ring is a romantic commitment; Ring + Heart, a contract signed with enthusiasm.

2. Positive, neutral and negative

Each card carries a charge: the Sun or the Key add, the Mountain or the Mice subtract. Neutral cards, like the Ship or the Book, depend on their neighbours.

3. The question changes everything

A Lenormand card does not mean the same in a love question as in one about work or health. That is why I explain each card by area of life.

4. They also tell time

Lenormand cards can give approximate time frames and months of the year. The Rider is fast; the Tree or the Tower are slow.

Frequently asked questions about Lenormand cards

How many cards are in the Lenormand oracle?

The Lenormand oracle has 36 cards, numbered from 1 (the Rider) to 36 (the Cross). Each card has its own simple meaning, such as the House (home), the Heart (love) or the Fish (money).

How do you read Lenormand card meanings?

Unlike tarot, Lenormand cards are read in pairs or in groups: the first card sets the topic and the second one describes it. For example, Heart + Ring speaks of a romantic commitment. That is why each card page lists all of its combinations.

Which Lenormand cards are positive and which are negative?

Positive cards include the Clover, the Bouquet, the Sun, the Key and the Heart. The negative cards are the Clouds, the Snake, the Coffin, the Scythe, the Whip, the Fox, the Mountain, the Mice and the Cross. The rest are neutral and depend on the cards around them.

Can Lenormand cards predict timing?

Yes. Each card is linked to a period of time and often to a month of the year. In the "timing" section of each card I explain which time frame it points to.

What is the difference between tarot and the Lenormand oracle?

Tarot has 78 cards and a more symbolic, psychological reading. The Lenormand oracle has 36 cards with everyday images, and its reading is more concrete and direct, ideal for practical questions about love, work or money.

“One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
Carl Gustav Jung
